We are looking for a Life Enrichment Assistant that is patient focused, that will enrich the lives of our residents, families and employees. This position will provide personalized, quality care and services to older adults that need assistance. We are searching for a dedicated employee who will have a passion to serve the elderly. This candidate must be a team player, have a positive outlook, able to problem solve and are caring and compassionate. Life Enrichment Assistant's will provide resident-directed therapeutic programming for the residents.
Essential Job Functions:
- Plan, implement and facilitate a variety of daily group activities for individuals for dementia to meet their physical, psycho social, cognitive and spiritual well-being
- Meet with residents in a one on one setting
- Develop a weekly and monthly activity calendar to meet residents interests and needs
- Develop and maintain positive rapport with staff, residents and their families
- Assist the LE Enrichment Specialist with tasks and special projects as needed
- Write up summary at the end of each day describing how time is spent
- Coordinate with volunteers as needed to schedule and develop enriching programming
- Re-evaluate and change programming as needed to meet the needs of residents
- Help serve breakfast and lunch in the dining room
- Attend quarterly Life Enrichment team meetings
*Previous experience with older adults
*Dementia experience preferred
