A day in the life of the Data Engineer is never the same but, in this role, you will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. Programming PL/SQL and ETL development experience is necessary.
What You’ll Do:
•Experience profiling and retrieving data from business applications using a wide variety of database platforms.
•Experience with modern ETL/ELT tools (Talend/Datastage) preferably in a cloud environment.
•Solid proficiency in procedural SQL
•Experience with version control systems (Git/SCCS)
•Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data integrity and performance issues
•Background supporting retail or wholesale distribution would be advantageous
•Experience creating logical and physical data models to optimize database design
Sound Like You? Here’s what you’ll need:
•Bachelor's Degree (Required) Computer Science Information Technology, Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
•Seven years of Information Technology experience in database modeling/relational database administration. Experience with and knowledge of creating Data Warehouse dimensional models, data modeling tools, principles and practices and related configuration management concepts.
•Hands-on experience working in Microsoft Azure
•Knowledge of Snowflake or comparable cloud Data Warehouse
•Familiarity with data cataloging tools such as Azure Data Catalog, Talend, Qlik Data Catalog
•Utilize programming languages like Bash Shell, Java, Python, Scala, and R
•Managing semi-structured data - Parquet/ORC/JSON
