Job Description:
- Grand Traverse Pavilions is seeking a motivated, full time Certified Nurse Aide to join our team. Variety of shifts and hours available.
- The starting wage for this position is $18.02/hour.
- $2.00/hour for working afternoon and midnight shifts.
- $1.00/hour for working Saturday and Sunday shifts.
- $2.35/hour Essential Worker Bonus.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- All employees must demonstrate that they are fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
Tasks:
- Daily checks resident care plan for those residents assigned so that Nurse Aide is aware of treatments and special nursing measures required for the shift.
- Assists residents in personal hygiene; e.g., a.m./p.m. care, peri-care, bathing, skin care, shampooing and grooming of hair, mouth care, brushing teeth, shaving, nail care, dressing and undressing.
- Answers call lights promptly and attends to resident needs.
- Prepares resident for meals, transports resident to dining room or places resident in appropriate position in their room or bed for the meal.
- Serves food trays, feeds resident requiring help, record dietary intake, collect finished trays for return to Dietary and passes nourishments between meals.
- Checks incontinent residents no less often than every two (2) hours, or more often as required by care plan. If dry, takes resident to the bathroom or if
incontinent, washes and dries resident. Promptly changes resident's clothing or bedding when it becomes wet or soiled with urine, feces or other secretions or excretions.
- Provides restorative nursing care to include range of motion, positioning and body alignment, preventive skin care, transfer and ambulation training, bowel and bladder training and assists with activities of daily living.
- Documents on residents care record daily.
- Encourage independence, socialization and participation in activities. Prepare residents for departmental activities or hospital out-patient services and transport residents to and from activities and appointments.
- Assists with the care of the critically ill.
- Notifies charge nurse of any change in resident need or condition, injury or potentially unsafe activity or event.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
