What you will doThe Materials & Process Industries Sector (MPI) covers six industries: Metals, Mining, Building Materials, Chemicals, Agribusiness and Forest Products, Pulp & Paper. The Sector Manager supports the MPI Sector Leader and their leadership team in developing and executing the global sector strategy, translating it to concrete initiatives and driving implementation with senior stakeholders. More concretely, the candidate supports the strategy development and annual planning as well as its execution, manages the sector budget and reporting and drives the people agenda including affiliation activities such as sector meetings and communication. The Sector Manager works closely with their peer, the sector s Business Development Manager, to drive IP development, codification and commercialization. The candidate also works closely with Marketing to plan and drive marketing activities across channels. The role will be an integral and influential contributor to the development and growth of BCG s MPI sector. BCG's Industrial Goods Practice (IG) is divided into four sectors: Automotive & Mobility (A&M), Engineered Products & Infrastructure (EPI), Materials & Process Industries (MPI) and Transportation & Logistics (T&L). The Practice includes the consulting team that works with our clients as well as the Practice Area team that manages the Practice and includes Sector Managers, Regional Managers, the Practice Area Coordinators and Marketing. The Practice Area team is, in short, the backbone of the Industrial Goods Practice. YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS) * Bachelor s degree required, master s degree with strong academic achievements preferred * At least 8 years industry experience or 4 years consulting experience * Significant BCG experience preferred, ideally on the Consulting Team (equivalent to Project Leader) * Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English YOU'RE GOOD AT * Self-starting with a strong work ethic, entrepreneurial drive, service mentality and ability to work both autonomously and in a multinational team * Operating effectively in a matrix organization and fast-paced environment where ownership, accountability, and way forward may be unclear you drive for clarity * Complex project management with the ability to multi-task and deliver intellectually rigorous output, driving on-time deliverables as well as anticipating and managing risks * Managing multiple senior stakeholders, building consensus, persuading, influencing and negotiating while being a strong team player across seniority levels with a strong presence and maturity * Ability to respect all BCG client/employee information as personal and confidential
