FCA is seeking an Electrical Systems Validation Engineer who will be responsible for developing electrical system validation test plans and procedures for automotive body, audio, active chassis and/or safety systems. The Engineer will require the extensive use of CAN testing tools and traditional electrical testing equipment in an electrical lab atmosphere to test and troubleshoot vehicle systems. The Engineer will design automated test benches to support the above systems as well as troubleshoot complex automotive electrical issues. The Engineer will perform vehicle level networking testing, analyze the data and validate the integrity of the vehicle system.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (Materials /Chemical/ Civil/Aerospace/Computer) from an ABET accredited university
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Must be able and willing to drive and test vehicles. Will be required to drive a company car.
• Will be required to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%
• Demonstrate experience with electrical debugging tools such as a digital multi-meter, oscilloscope, CAN diagnostic tools (CANoe/CANalyzer), current probes and other diagnostic equipment
• Demonstrate ability to read and analyze digital communications data (CAN)
• Desire to work on vehicles and in a hands-on test environment
• Demonstrate ability to develop a solid test plan from product requirements
• Demonstrate experience developing requirements based test plans for electrical systems
• Demonstrate experience performing vehicle and system level validation
• Demonstrated experience with DFMEA and DVP&R processes
• Demonstrate Microsoft Office and G Suite (Google) Application Skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (Materials /Chemical/ Civil/Aerospace/Computer) from an ABET accredited university
• 5 years of experience in automotive engineering
• DFSS or Reactive training or certification
• EE Design or validation experience
• Extensive experience in high-speed digital and logic design
• Knowledge of CAN bus and experience using Vector CAN tools
• Experience with CAN Diagnostic tools, CANoe, CANalyzer
• Ability to determine root cause and to debug CAN and CAN FD communication buses
• Trained in DVP (Design Validation Plan) and DFMEA (Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis)
• Experience in root cause analysis or certified problem solving skills (Reactive Quality Green Belt or Reactive Quality Black Belt)
• Proficiency in all aspects of project development from vision and scope through all phases of design, development, implementation, deployment and project exit
System or component automated bench testing design experience including knowledge of programming languages (i.e. CAPL script)
