Position: The School of Nursing at Northern Michigan University invites applications for a
tenure-earning position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The position will start in
August 2020.
Duties and Responsibilities: This position covers teaching (both classroom and clinical),
research, and service responsibilities appropriate with the rank of Assistant or
Associate Professor. This position has a Medical/Surgical or Psychiatric/Mental Health
focus. This is a campus-based position.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have a doctorate or equivalent terminal degree in nursing,
or related field. Requirements also include a current Michigan RN licensure (unrestricted) or
eligibility for licensure in Michigan, three years of experience as a registered nurse (RN), and
experience with psychiatric/mental health or population health nursing. Rank of Assistant or
Associate dependent on teaching, scholarship and service accomplishment consistent with the SON
bylaws for rank.
