Job Summary
This position is to effectuate and support daily oversight activities with multiple servicing vendors (Tier 1 and 2) and requires business unit and third party risk management understanding of servicing insurance tracking operations. The team member is responsible for the daily completion of exception/escalation report reviews and applicable loan level system maintenance, communication with the vendor(s), loan by loan or batch quality assurance reviews and support of adhoc activities during exams/audits. Effectuate tasks according to our policies and procedures and adherence to regulatory/investor and SLA compliance. Experienced in operational processes (knowledge on carriers, disbursements and borrower communications) that provides best in class customer experience. Must have a working knowledge of MSP and Black Knight ancillary technology solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
- 70% of time: Timely completion of daily exception/escalation tasks which include report reviews and loan level/batch system maintenance
- 10% of time: Maintain effective relationships with vendors, servicing operations, and business partners. Including collaboration with senior analysts and lead analysts.
- 10% of time: Assist in operational process improvements and documentation updates (procedures, user guides and workflows)
- 10% of time: Apply knowledge of servicing insurance (flood, hazard, wind/hurricane, etc.), flood certificates and loss draft requirements & operations in the oversight of vendor activities including exception handling
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Completes all required compliance training. Maintains knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar's internal compliance policies and procedures. Takes responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.
Job Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in Mortgage Servicing and/or Origination
- 2+ years of vendor management, preferable insurance related
- HS Diploma, GED or Foreign Equivalent
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred (Business, Finance or related field)
- Working knowledge of mortgage or consumer finance industry
- Maintain collaborative relationships
- Ability to identify problems as well as analyze and recommend solutions
- Effective written and oral communication
- Must be highly organized and have a strong attention to detail
- Excellent computer skills; ability to learn and adapt to changing technologies
