Qualifications:
Minimum requirements for consideration:
* Exceptionally strong English communication and writing skills.
* Exceptional attention to detail. Strong determination to produce applicable, accurate, and complete technical documentation for a variety of audiences.
* Ability to understand complicated information and communicate it clearly in writing.
* Ability and willingness to proactively procure data from various sources.
* Ability to logically pursue cause and effect.
* Mechanical aptitude and ability to read mechanical drawings.
* Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and set priorities with minimal direction.
* Willingness to adhere to standards, styles, and templates to ensure common documentation look and feel.
* Proficient with the Microsoft Office products, especially Word.
Additional experience and skills that would beneficial:
* Degree in Technical Communication, related technical field, or equivalent technical writing experience.
* Familiarity with material handling systems, AS/RS system experience being especially prized.
* Demonstrated ability to parse complex content.
* Experience identifying requirements for various audiences and producing technical documentation tailored to their needs.
* Mechanical, electrical/controls, and software aptitude, training, and knowledge.
* Ability to read electrical blueprints.
* Experience working within a Word template.
* Experience with writing software help files.
* Experience with creating visual aids for manufacturing/material handling environments.
Education:
Typically BS/BA in related discipline.
Knowledge and Experience:
Typically 5-8 years of successful experience in related field.
Key Working Relationships:
Primarily intra-organizational contacts with some external contacts.
