Position Purpose: Under general guidance of production manager, plans, directs, and manages the printing operation to achieve operating goals and objectives consistent with Plant and Division objectives (safety, quality, productivity, etc.) and supports and trains employees in daily operation of facility. Job Functions: * Directs the printing production of all items at the lowest cost consistent with established specifications in terms of quality and quantity. * Develops, recommends, and implements operating policies and ensures the application of such policies. * Coordinates and collaborates with all departments of the plant in establishing and carrying out responsibilities. * Manages employees by establishing performance goals, allocating resources, and assessing performance. * Provides leadership directed at continuous improvement in safety, quality / customer satisfaction, and productivity. * Provides leadership and direction to production supervisors and employees to continuously improve quality, reduce waste, and increase throughput. * Assists and supports Plant and Production Manager in all aspects. * Shares an obligation to protect and strengthen Graphic Packaging International's good reputation in our relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, competitors, investors, and governmental agencies, and to act consistently with our core values: Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork. Job Specifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field, MBA preferred; or equivalent combination of 2-5 years of management experience in the offset printing industry or similar manufacturing environment. * Proficient with MicroSoft Office, Outlook, and internet research skills * Experience with SAP preferred, or other ERP systems * Foresight, creativity, sense of urgency, and good organizational skills * Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills * Visual Color Discrimination, the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of colors The above job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
