As a Pension Benefits Manager, you'll utilize your progressive retirement plan expertise to support our overall benefits strategy, design, competitiveness, implementation, communication and ongoing administration of the Company's benefit plans and programs. Your work will be varied and include analysis, planning, design, research, budget monitoring, facilitation, and communication with employees, retirees or outside agencies. This role requires a high level of understanding of general retirement plans rules, regulations and processes. After joining the team, you will master the specific provisions of our retirement plans and related benefit calculations.
In this role, you will:
* Provide support for overall benefits strategy, design, competitiveness, implementation, communication and ongoing administration of the Company's benefit plans and programs to drive Company strategy
* Design, communicate and cost-effectively administer Final Average Pay and Cash Balance Pension Plans, Defined Company Contribution Plans, 401(k) Savings Plans, Supplemental Executive Retirement Plans (DB and DC) and Deferred Salary Savings Plans both internally and through an outsourced service provider, including check distribution, recordkeeping, disability retirements, QDROs and POAs
* Manage professional exempt and nonexempt employees, and be responsible for large, complex technical or business support or production operations team(s) supporting retirement plans administration
* Deliver retirement benefits with a focus on quality and customer service while responding to employee or retiree requests according to established policies and procedures
* Conduct research of benefits benchmarks and best practices, monitor legal developments and emerging trends while staying informed of technological advancements
* Prepare reports to management on the status of pension and retirement plan activities and reconcile a variety of activities and payments into and out of various trusts and company accounts
* Manage retirement plans in compliance with all federal and state regulations (e.g. ERISA, PPA) and complete retirement plans compliance requirements in a timely manner including 5500 reporting, plan financial audits, PBGC reporting/payment, retirement plans nondiscrimination testing, pension plan annual funding notice, Summary Plan Descriptions, Form 4010 filing, savings plan fee disclosures, retirement plan proxy reporting, Form 8955-SSA filing and SOX reconciliations
* Interact with and manage various third party providers including plan record keepers, custodians, fund managers, actuaries, and auditors
* Manage contributions to Pension, VEBA and Rabbi trusts; direct asset movement within trusts to allow for benefit plan payments; administer money management activities in the trusts as directed by the Benefit Administration Committee
* Support plan participant financial wellbeing through a variety of measures including educational materials, seminars/webinars and one-on-one interactions
* Support union contract bargaining of benefit plans
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree required in HR, Finance or related field; Master's Degree or CEBS preferred
* 8+ years of progressive retirement plans benefits experience required
* Strong understanding of federal regulations and requirements for benefit plans (ERISA, PPA, HIPAA, SOX, FMLA, ADA, etc.)

May make presentations on a variety of topics to employees, retirees, management staff, and the general public. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with department heads, supervisors, employees and union representatives. Provides advice and counsel to clients and employees related to retirement policies, practices and procedures including matters related to, compliance, the collective bargaining agreements, and financial activity.
Hours and Travel
Must possess a valid driver's license. Maintain regular, predictable and punctual attendance during regularly scheduled work hours at assigned worksite. Meet travel requirements of the position. Work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime.
