DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

SUMMARY:
Responsible for tending to metalfabricating machines such as, but not limited to, cut-off saws, shears, rolls,brakes, presses, sizers, forming machines, spinning machines, and punches thatcut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures by performingthe duties and responsibilities as outlined within this job description.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

* Produce parts as directed by material control, and or theengineering department so to attain the required production levels and quality.
* Prep and inspect parts for final production.
* Run first time production parts as directed and performPoka Yokes.
* Participate in job rotation through eachcell which addresses cross training and ergonomical issues. * Read jobspecifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
* Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated byscale, rule, or template.
* Position work piece against stops or align layout markswith die or blades.
* Push button or depress pedal to activate machine.
* Observe machine operations to detect work piece defects ormachine malfunction.
* Monitor the output of quality parts through inspection,scrap records, statistical process controls, and station control sheets.
* Measure work piece dimensions to determine accuracy ofmachine operation.
* Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work piece
* Perform 5S activities.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements: High School diploma orgeneral education degree (GED) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Must have the ability to read and comprehend workinstructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions in English.
* Must have the ability to write simple correspondence inEnglish.
* Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, anddivide.
* Must be able to communicate clearly with supervisors,peers, or subordinates by phone, in writing, and / or in person.
* Must be able to tell when an operating error is occurringand assist in deciding what to do about it.
* Must be able to work within a team environment.
* Must possess the ability to work with hand tools.
* Must possess the ability to maintain accurate records.
