PSG is part of the Fluids segment of the Dover Corporation (NYSE: DOV). Dover is a diversified global manufacturer with annual revenues in excess of $7 billion Responsibilities: * Utilizes G-code and M-code programming to create milling and turning programs for cast iron parts to be machined on horizontal and vertical lathes and mills; utilizes CAM software to generate part programs, tool paths, etc. for machining of cast iron parts on horizontal and vertical turning and milling machines * Utilizes CNC coding and CAM software to estimate quotes for manufactured parts as part of make/buy decisions. * Provides mentorship and guidance to Journeyman and other machinists as it relates to troubleshooting CNC programs, set ups, and quality issues. * Develops work instructions for CNC programs; works with quality engineering to develop measurement plans for part programs; trains operators to run parts. * Develops work holding and fixture designs for milling and turning operations for vertical and horizontal machining applications * Consults with tooling vendors on a regular basis to choose appropriate tooling, inserts, tool holders, etc. for milling and turning applications. * Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential. * Uses all continuous improvement and Lean Six Sigma tools to lead the development, design, and implementation of manufacturing processes for all areas of production. * Conducts complex analysis with knowledge of set up reduction, 5S, line balancing, root cause, PLC logic and standards, cell layouts, and machine designs. * Coordinates activities with test, engineering, and quality and oversees all support teams to coordinate the build and installation of a machine. * Analyzes manufacturing activities to determine manufacturing capacity and design, improve production methods, and fabricate or modify manufacturing processes. * Develops methods to understand workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace to ensure maximum efficiency. * Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. Has knowledge of part locating datum's and can specify tooling and fixtures accordingly for machining and /or assembly work. * Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, fixtures, tooling, gages or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. Has knowledge of machinery / equipment operation and associated programming (All types of CAM Software) required for proper function. Is capable of teaching others on the operation of machinery / equipment. * Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
