TRC is seeking a highly motivated Summer Intern in Environmental Remediation Team in our Madison, Wisconsin office. The successful candidate will present a strong academic record in a related field and clearly describe their interest in TRC and the environmental consulting field in their cover letter/email.
Our Environmental Remediation Team provides geological, engineering, and related support for investigation, design, construction, and maintenance of a wide variety of technically challenging projects for, primarily, industrial and utility clients.
Responsibilities:
* Participate in a broad variety of environmental engineering assignments including soil and groundwater sampling and remediation; and, construction and facility demolition oversight and documentation.
* Assist with preparing work plans, data summary tables, figures, and report text.
* Assist with field investigations, including site investigations and construction oversight.
* Conduct field work.
* Interact with colleagues, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
* As part of the internship, be willing to obtain 40-hour HAZWOPER health and safety training certificate. Successful candidate will be required to take 40-hour HAZWOPER training upon hire.
Requirements
Required Skills:
* Candidate for an ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, geotechnical, civil, chemical, or related fields, such as geology and earth sciences, will be considered.
* Must have excellent communication and writing skills.
* Fluency with Microsoft Office software (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.) is mandatory. Experience with other civil and environmental engineering software applications (AutoCad, MathCad, WaterCad, ARCView GIS, etc.) is preferred but not required.
* Must possess solid technical and problem solving skills, and must be willing to accept occasional short and long term field assignments.
* Must have a valid driver's license.
* Must be willing to work from the Madison, WI office for the duration of the internship.
