Competency Based Training allows you to earn based on what you can do. Pay scales and increases go up based on the experience and skills you learn on the job; and your individual performance.
Polisher:
Learn at your own pace to move up based on the experience you'll gain while working with us. Already have experience from a previous position? Tell us about it during your interview so we can start you at the appropriate rate.
*15.25 Entry Level plus .75 Shift Premium = $16.00 to start
* Up to $20.50 at Level III upon completion of training
* Upon completion of the highest level in an area, we will begin training you on a new plan, if desired. You set your own limits at Pace Industries.
What it takes to be a Polisher at Pace Industries:
You will be a member of a cross-functional team, responsible for polishing cast parts on a fixedjack stand belt/flap sander in order to produce a high-quality product in accordance with Pace - Port City Group (PCG) and customer requirements. Must be able to Recognize and quickly respondto any non-conforming or suspect conditions related to the cast parts. Responsible for troubleshooting problems and resolving issues independently.
Essential Duties:
1. Follows prescribed safety standards and wears required personal protective equipment, whichinclude respirators and foam lined glasses.
2. Responsible for the quality of the parts produced. Inspect parts for any non-conforming or suspect conditions.
3. Polish parts to remove/blend casting features and/or defects per documented instructions.
4. Complete hourly quality checks and fill out hour by hour charts if required.
5. Initiate containment of any non-conforming and suspect parts.
6. Clean dust collector system and replace filters.
7. Polish and pack parts. Record parts produced; scrap generated, scrap percentages, reasons for scrap and down time hourly.

You will be active by standing, lifting and moving around and working in hot temperatures. IndustrialAthletes are encouraged to apply! Must show attention to instructions and details to make a quality part, don't worry we have instructions for everything and patient trainers.
Mechanical aptitude and previous industrial experience in operating equipment is a strong plus,specifically in plastic injection molding, Die Cast & CNC machines. Must work safely and efficiently to make production rates to get parts to our customers on time. Safety is a 24/7 commitment at Pace. We want you going home to your family each day feeling the same or better than when youcame in.
Work Hours:
3rd shift Monday-Friday 10pm-6am (may vary slightly depending on location)
1st Shift opportunities posted internally as they become available
Overtime frequently available and, at times, required.
Wages: Details can be provided for each level during the interview process. Make sure we know what you can do!
Polisher Wage Scale:
1. 15.25 Entry Level plus .75 Shift Premium = $16.00 to start
2. 16.75 Level I plus .75 Shift Premium = $17.50/hour
3. 19.00 Level II plus .75 Shift Premium = $19.75/hour
4. 20.50 Level III plus .75 Shift Premium = $21.25/hour
