The Paint Facilities Technologies Supervisor manages a team of process and equipment specialist engineers for current and new vehicle programs. The Supervisor is responsible for developing equipment standards and processes. The person in this role will develop/implement short and long term strategies to support our FCA paint shop quality and efficiency goals. This position works closely with numerous related departments within the organization such as Environment Health and Safety, Materials and Corrosion as well as the manufacturing plants. The Supervisor also represents paint operations in many forums such as IH Reviews or Plant Launch Meetings. This position ensures that the engineers are working closely with the skilled trades and production team members, in order to improve equipment performance and quality processes in the paint shops. The Supervisor supports paint operations in connection with World Class Manufacturing (WCM) initiatives such as work place organization, logistics, and focused problem solving.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Chemistry or Manufacturing or other degree combined with equivalent work experience
•5+ years of experience in paint manufacturing processes
•Knowledge and/or experience in phosphate/e-coat, sealer application and materials, powder/primer/topcoat prep, and finesse processing and materials
•Experience supervising engineers
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Strong presentation skills
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
•Degree in Industrial Engineering
•10+ years of experience in paint manufacturing processes
•5+ years of experience supervising engineers
•5+ years of automotive OEM paint and/or paint shop sealer experience
•Knowledge of PFMEA
•Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing
•Knowledge of Focused Problem Solving
•Knowledge of Fiat Chrysler Systems (FIS, AVI, PFCS) a plus
