The People Development Specialist is responsible for designing, developing and delivering the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) course offerings. The People Development Specialist will utilize the classroom, plant and on-line environments to disseminate knowledge. He/she will assist, coach and mentor participants through the PDCA process for the application of tools learned from the academy, in plant training, and application of PD tools for competency management. Organize, develop and schedule plant training. Provide feedback and follow up to the plant staff and WCM Academy of training. Work with operational leads to plan appropriate training based on need. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•Education in the development of learning material in an industrial setting or adult learning
•Analysis of training needs for the plant and align these needs to the company strategy
•Create and standardize training module templates
•Work with operational leads to plan appropriate training
•Develop and manage training plans
•Review individual training and development plans for target completion
•Coaching and follow-up training with employees
•Manage 24-week new hire immersion program
•Assist with leading the human error management system from all aspects of safety, quality, professional maintenance, logistics and environmental perspectives to drive plant performance Key Performance Indicators (KPI) in a positive direction
•Management of quality gates for People Development
•Coordination of Manufacturing Training Area (MTA) and training as required
•Provide reports to senior plant management as required
•Participate in WCM activities to support PD and audits
•Support HR/PD functions as needed
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business or Engineering
•Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
•Attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master’s degree
•Manufacturing experience
•Instructional design experience
•Ability to use raw data to drive strategic plans to impact KPIs
