The Powertrain Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for supporting the overall coordination, development and implementation of training programs for the Powertrain organization. This will include individual and area competency assessments, course development, facilitation, program implementation, surveys and evaluation. The selected candidate will also be responsible for managing multiple projects and working with employees at all levels of the organization including subject matter experts, area leadership, internal and external business partners. This person will create project plans, support powertrain training activities and other associated requirements for the individual department and Powertrain events, as required. Other responsibilities include benchmarking best practices to identify gaps in current learning and development processes and development of strategies to address.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree
•Ability to multi-task many related activities to achieve a common goal
•High level of oral and written communication skills
•Strong communication and presentation skills, specifically to large groups
•Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
•Experience in writing and organizing technical content to support learning objectives and identifying associated metrics
•Experience evaluating course/curriculum quality to determine overall effectiveness of classes using delivery performance metrics
•Proven project management skills
•High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite products including Word/Docs, PowerPoint/Slides and Excel/Sheets
•Strong understanding of training and development best practices and demonstrated ability to implement solutions based on industry standards/best practices
Preferred Qualifications:
•Engineering degree preferred
•Strong facilitation skills
•Strong organization and time management skills
•Industrial organization experience: engineering (powertrain/vehicle), operations, manufacturing, quality and/or purchasing
•Experience applying the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) to course development in a professional/business environment
•Experience using Learning Management Systems
•Demonstrated experience in developing web-based training using industry-standard tools such as: Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Flash
•Experience with SharePoint site administration, Qlik Sense analytics tool and Survey Monkey
•Thorough understanding of Adult Learning Theory and demonstrated ability to implement programs/courses based on Adult Learning Theory
