FCA is currently seeking an Emissions Lab Hardware Engineering Lead to join the team at the Chrysler Technical Center in Auburn Hills, MI. The Emissions Lab Hardware Engineer will lead the Powertrain Test and Analysis hardware engineering emissions support team. The hardware team is a 3 shift operation which will require management of shift schedules and overtime.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•Ensuring the lab’s analytical equipment and processes meet the CFR standards to support development and certification testing
•Coordinating the implementation of capital equipment upgrades to meet all regulatory agency requirements for emissions testing, including 1066, Euro6, and China6
•Providing direct support for European and Asian witness testing
•Leading the team in diagnosing emissions equipment hardware system problems
•Managing required system preventative maintenance and equipment calibration
Basic Qualifications:
•A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Engineering degree from an ABET accredited university or equivalent
•A minimum of 5 years of industry engineering experience
•A minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in an automotive powertrain testing support environment
•Demonstrated knowledge and experience with data acquisition systems and data analysis techniques
•Demonstrated hardware project management experience
•Demonstrated knowledge of computer control systems
•Must have excellent communication and presentation skills as well as experience with basic PC software (MS Office Suite and/or Google G-Suite)
•Must be highly motivated with a strong work ethic and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Engineering degree from an ABET accredited university or equivalent
•Knowledge of emissions regulations and experience with emissions test systems
•Experience with WCM methods and how to apply them in a lab environment
