As a Senior Content Strategist, you’ll set the direction for a great experience that provides engaging and useful content to our brands’ customers. You’ll do so by mastering a spectrum of content strategy tactics: product leadership and editorial planning, interface copy and UX content needs, content management systems and structured content, asset management and content systems, as well as taxonomies and information architecture.
If your background is in writing, editing, or managing digital content and assets, that’s good. If you have experience creating strategies and prototype content for applications and web interfaces, that’s great. And if you’re conversant in structured content and asset storage, that’s even better.
We know there is no content problem that can’t be solved through workshopping and collaboration.
The ideal candidate will be a holistic thinker who thrives when working with others. He or she will also have the ambition to learn what he or she doesn’t already know.
We are hiring for two roles. One will primarily focus on web content strategy, one will focus on asset management.
Primary Responsibilities:
Plan and manage an annual refresh of web content.
- Develop content vision and core strategy.
- Lead editorial planning.
- Regularly evaluate and improve site structures.
- Evaluate analytics and customer insights to identify content opportunities.
- Identify and manage assets for annual refresh.
Define how customers successfully navigate through the web experience.
- Work within brand voice and tone guidelines.
- Manage and coordinate brand digital editorial guidelines.
- Develop standards for useful error messages, calls to action, headlines, and notifications.
- Understand the customer experience and how to best support the customer.
Design content systems and how to build them for people.
- Provide vision of how to evolve content management systems to better support customer, content and business strategies.
- Comfortable with the following:
- Content modeling
- Information architecture and taxonomies
- Authoring experiences
- Content process and governance
- Search engines and findability
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform content discovery and analysis. This may include content audits, inventories, competitive analyses, and other tactics.
- Be an advocate for clarity and lead others in the use of plain language.
- Contribute to thought leadership and help evolve our content strategy team culture.
Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, with five-to-seven years of relevant professional experience.
- Prepare a portfolio of sample deliverables or case studies.
- Be willing to roll up your sleeves. You should know the best strategic approach and then help us and our clients get it done.
- Be passionate about digital content.
- Possess empathy for customers and an understand how customer experience methodologies such as journey maps and personas improve their experience.
- Understand how search engine optimization, analytics, user experience, information architecture, and user interface design complement content strategy.
- Be a collaborator and leader. Successful candidates will demonstrate how they can work with a variety of people and lead them toward better results.
