As a member of FCA’s Automated Driving Software team, you will be responsible for the design, development, simulation, testing, integration, and deployment of the latest cutting edge technologies across platforms to consumer markets worldwide. We are looking for software professionals that possess development experience in the field of automated vehicle perception including any of the areas of autonomous and automated driving route planning, path planning and trajectory planning algorithms. Additional software background and experience in any of the following areas: embedded vehicle development, vehicle dynamics, safety design, security and networking, localization, and/or motion control is a plus. Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related Engineering field
•5 years of overall software development experience including 2 years of experience in C++, and/or Python, algorithm development including design, description, and test case documentation in a vehicle or related environment
•3 years of direct software and development experience in ADAS, Active Safety, Automated or Autonomous Driving software applications
•A firm understanding of classical search algorithms and computational geometry
•Experience working as a team member within an Agile/Scrum software development process with full software lifecycle responsibilities
•Experience developing Algorithms utilizing Robot Operating System (ROS) and/or an Embedded Linux Platform using C++ Object Oriented Design methodologies
•Demonstrated high level of technical problem solving ability and cross-functional collaboration
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
•8 years of software development experience and 5 years developing automated software features in a vehicle or equivalent environment
•Professional C++ experience designing any-angle robotic navigation algorithms such as Dijkstra, A*, D*, RRT, RRT* and RRG
•Professional and/or practical understanding of optimal control theory and state space mechanics
•Experience with other automated driving algorithm techniques including: kalman filtering, graph Theory, particle filters, grid fusion, point cloud processing, machine learning techniques, optical/cv image processing, precision GPS, finite state machines, optimal path, mapping, and various control algorithms
•Experience with SIL/HIL environments including Static Analysis, Structural Testing, Functional Testing, and/or Functional Regression principles and authoring code compliant with any of the following standards: IEC-61508, ISO-26262, DO-178B, and/or ISO-21448
•A working knowledge of AUTOSAR Classic and/or Adaptive Platform concepts and development experience using a message passing middleware topology (e.g. DDS, LCM, ROS) in a multi-threaded environment
