LEAD TRANSPORTATION DRIVER
Under supervision of the Transportation Manager and Lead, is responsible for maintaining vehicle (fleet) supplies, maintenance schedule, and accompanying documentation. Files, sorts, and uploads delivery manifests.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Transportation Lead as needed to plan and execute the scheduling of transportation to and from the center for program participants.
- Communicates appropriate information regarding participant tolerance while riding on the PACE vehicles and or other related concerns.
- Follows up with Transportation Lead appropriately on all Unusual Occurrences reported by the transportation staff.
- Assists the transportation staff in completing any necessary documentation logs concerning vehicle maintenance and or safety maintenance.
- Assures that all vehicles are kept in safe and satisfactory working order according to vehicle maintenance schedules.
- Performs other related duties as necessary, assigned or requested by Transportation Manager and Lead.
- Ensure timely distribution of medications to drivers and the DNW center.
- Ensure proper PreTrip inspections.
- Ensure timely vehicle Inspections.
- Communicate immediately and manage all real time unforeseen situations.
- Respond to vehicle breakdown and transfers.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Current CPR card required.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Extremely organized and detailed oriented.
- Lead effectively under multiple and quickly changing situations.
- Three years’ work experience in related field and/or supervision/management of five or more staff.
- Must be capable of and experienced in transporting individuals with special mobility needs or ability to learn.
- Demonstration of progressive leadership ability is highly desirable.
- The ability to lift and/or carry 50 pounds or more.
- Must meet a standardized set of competencies (approved by PACE) before working independently.
- Must be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date before engaging in direct participant contact.
