The Engineering Services Senior Buyer position is responsible for managing all procurement and related activities for outsourced design and development services supporting Powertrain, Vehicle Development, Product Design, Quality, and UConnect. This role will also support the various processes and procedures of the Indirect Purchasing department, while driving improvements to the organization and improving efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to multi-task; have excellent time management skills and the ability to set priorities independently. This position requires strong leadership, ability to work at a fast pace, and effectively communicate to upper management. Additionally, this position will require management of all aspects of the supplier relationship, including contract maintenance, achievement of annual cost savings targets, and development of supplier/commodity strategies.
The core responsibilities of a Senior Buyer are the development, ownership, and execution of full lifecycle purchasing strategies which include but are not limited to:
•Leading all aspects of the commercial relationship with the supply base and internal customers including sourcing process/budget management, benchmarking, supplier relations, Purchase Order issuance/maintenance, supply/delivery, cost savings, economic claim negotiations, etc.
•Leading regional and global supplier development and cross-functional communications with suppliers using a “One Voice” approach
•Leading a cross-functional team including partners from: FCA business teams, Engineering, IT, and Finance
•Frequent professional communication with senior leadership

Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree from an AACSB or ABET-accredited program or equivalent programs in Business, Marketing, Finance, Management, Supply Chain or related field.
•7 years of experience in Purchasing or a related field
•Ability to build and maintain strong relationships
•Proficient using MS Office programs
•Well organized, self-motivated, capable of managing conflict, and resourceful managing complex assignments
•Comfortable in a fast paced environment
•Strong negotiation skills and the ability to think and act strategically
•Results-oriented and ability to lead cross-functional & global teams
•Strong communication skills required; must be comfortable interfacing with all levels of management
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master’s degree
•Understanding engineering design and development process
•Understanding of service contracts
•Experience in the automotive industry
