Description * Manages and supports Engineers in day to day activities to meet company objectives by communicating and setting priorities for monthly workload in order to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget
* Develops and provides Engineering team with framework and methodology for meeting project quality, delivery and cost targets
* Develops and implements Aspen strategic engineering plans with other department managers. * Determines and communicates opportunities for VIP's for 2-3 year outlook
* Assures Aspen quality and manufacturing standards, specifications, procedures and control plans are developed and adhered to by all staff members according to regulatory body and industry standard policies and guidelines
* Oversees and plans for continuous improvement of process capabilities standards and metrics
* Supports and drives a culture of employee engagement through utilization of employee relations programs and listening to improvements needed from all levels of employees in the business
* Partners with manufacturing to ensure project continuity and that the manufacturing department's needs are met
* Develops advanced manufacturing methods, systems and processes to product high quality products at optimal costs
* Directs the implementation of new tools, equipment, fixtures and process change methods needed for appropriate level of improvement needed in projects
* Provides engineering direction for quality initiatives, production problem solving, and Value Improvement Projects (VIP)
* Manages the data collection, analysis and implementation of VIP's for manufacturing process efficiency
* Researches, develops and implements equipment performance goals and standards
* Researches, analyzes and implements work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and equipment layout to maximize work space efficiency * Maintains high level of knowledge and practices relevant to medical device manufacturing through continuing education, specific courses or conferences
* Works closely with production, engineering, and quality leaders to resolve maintenance problems and recommends measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment

Qualifications * Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or closely related 4 year Technical degree is required with Engineering and Manufacturing experience * Or Master of Science degree or business preferred * Continuous Improvement or Lean Leader experience preferred
* 3+ years of management experience in leading a team is preferred * Has lead a significant number of large VIP projects that were delivered on time and overall considered successful preferred * At least 8 years regulated industry experience that includes FDA and ISO requirements medical device manufacturing experience required * Able to develop technical solutions to unusually complex technical problems where analysis of situations or data require an in-depth evaluation of intangibles * Able to apply highly ingenious and innovation regularly in order to develop the proper solution * Effectively handles global interactions and collaborations while managing cultural differences * Successfully network with key contacts outside own area of expertise and across global boundaries * Ability to lead projects within a multi-functional team with proven verbal and written communication skills * Ability to conduct Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA) * Teamwork, communication, positive attitude required to support the manufacturing environment * Problem Solving - able to perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions * Project Management - able to effectively manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously. PMP certification preferred * Excellent computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Microsoft, Minitab, Solidworks
