We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Supervisor to join our TRAILS School Success Initiative's team of talented professionals.
To qualify for this position, you will need the following:
- The School Success Initiative Assistant Supervisor shall be a member of one of the mental health professions with a minimum of a Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or psychology with at least two years of experience in mental health.
- Must be fully licensed (LMSW, LPC, or LLP) in the State of Michigan to practice in the area of specialty.
- The field supervisor must also meet Michigan Department of Community Health requirements for a Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP) within 120 days of hire.
- Supervisory experience is preferred. Must have experience in the examination, evaluation and treatment of children & adolescents.
- Must have excellent organizational skills in order to track and prepare data accurately and timely as well as the ability to lead others and work cooperatively with a team.
- Must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Must have acceptable MDHHS Central Registry and criminal background check clearance.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, automobile registration and insurance and meet the driving eligibility criteria as specified by current insurance company.
- Candidate will be self-motivated and able to demonstrate competence in group facilitation, public speaking, and direct service to youth, children and families.
- Candidate will have ability develop collaborative relationships with schools and other coordinating agencies.
- Candidate will have ability to address substance use/abuse, child abuse, neglect and trauma, and other issues of public health concern.
- Additional requirements include: a nonjudgmental approach that reflects cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs and diverse experiences of individual families, effective interpersonal communication skills, and a willingness to be flexible, patient and creative. Must have the ability to appropriately handle crisis situations. Basic computer skills, including utilization of the internet, MS Word, and Excel required.
As Assistant Supervisor in the Trails School Success Initiative Program, you will be responsible for the following:
The Assistant Supervisor is responsible for the coordination and clinical supervision of the DWIHN School Success Initiative. This is a school based program designed to assist school personnel in identifying and assisting students with mental health needs. Individual and group work with student body and staff is required. The Assistant Supervisor will assist staff in implementing the evidenced-informed TRAILS program in partnership with the University of Michigan, in the Wyandotte Schools. The Assistant Supervisor assures care is delivered in a manner consistent with strength-based, family centered, and culturally competent values, offers consultation and education to providers regarding the values of school based program. The Assistant Supervisor will assist with monitoring progress toward program goals and assuring that all necessary data for evaluation is gathered and recorded. The Assistant Supervisor will assist with implementation of work plans, completing regular funding source reports, initiating and maintain communication with schools and communities in the Wyandotte School District. Additionally, the Assistant Supervisor will provide individual and group direct services to youth as needed.
Regular working hours are typically Monday through Friday 8:30 to 5:00, but will be dictated by the programs needs. Supervisor must be able to work a flexible schedule including evening and occasional weekend hours.
