Description:
- Assists in establishing operational methods and work standards using various measurement techniques
- Provides information for various management systems
- Record and analyze information on specific problems assigned in the utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities
- Work well with various engineering disciplines, floor and shop personnel and outside suppliers
- Confirms or recommends changes to layouts, labor control and/or material control
- Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material and equipment in supporting SPQRC initiatives
- Must support plant in achieving Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness and Cost goals
- Supports/implements the QS9000/ISO14001/(GMS) Global Manufacturing System compliance processes
Required Skills/Experience:
- Strong knowledge of work measurement and work standards
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes
- Demonstrated strong ability with ergonomic requirements of workstation design
- Ability to conduct line balancing activities – 7+ years' experience
- Ability to coordinate system simulations and design process buff – 7+ years' experience
- Position related experience - 8+ years
- Relevant auto industry experience required - Entry level (1 year)
- Past Client work experience required - Entry level (1 year)

Specific Responsibilities of this Position:
- Industrial Engineering Support for North American Future Vehicle Programs:
- Develop Base Engineered Content (BEC or Value Added) Status, Headcount & Hours per Vehicle Estimates (includes generation & tracking of ideas for improving).
- Evaluate Program Content Sheets & compile data to support a collaborative BEC target setting process.
- Perform Labor Studies for various what-if scenarios being studied (make vs buy, design alternatives, etc).
- Provide input into each Center's Plant Layout development (influence lean layouts).
- Participate in BEC Reduction & Design for Assembly Workshop Processes
Maintain a high level of customer responsiveness related to study completion & data reporting requirements. On time with quality.
Work effectively with both globally & organizationally diverse teams (e.g. Manufacturing & Product Engineering, Finance, Labor & Manufacturing Operations etc.).
Be able to "Think Outside of the Box " to develop solutions to complex problems that are often bounded by limited information and definition.
