DEPARTMENT SUMMARY
The Real Estate Acquisition Group is responsible for acquiring all land rights for the construction, operation and maintenance of Consumers Energy electric and gas utility assets throughout the state of Michigan. The land rights routinely acquired include but are not limited to easements for electric pole lines and gas mains; and fee property acquisitions for electric substations, gas compressor stations, and corporate office buildings.
JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES
As a member of the real estate department, this individual is responsible for the development of budgets and schedules for Real Estate Acquisition projects. Serves as the lead for development and monitoring of quality control processes for Acquisition project teams. Is responsible for coordinating all non-acquisition aspects of projects to insure timely completion. Coordination responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, support of the real estate portion of the condemnation process, gas pipeline integrity programs, general construction support and gas storage field projects. Will also support the development of RFPs necessary for Real Estate Acquisition activities.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICIATIONS
•Bachelor's degree in applicable field. Less than a Bachelor's degree may be acceptable if accompanied by extensive Company or industry experience in positions that demonstrate required abilities and performance.
•Experience-4 yrs. experience in office environment
•Advanced knowledge and understanding of project tracking
•Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•Help develop project budgets and associated schedules for Real Estate Acquisition.
•Report on project spend to internal clients.
•Development and monitoring of quality control processes for projects.
•Coordinate Survey, Legal, Environmental and Appraisal requests for projects and insure items are completed according to the project schedule.
•Assist Acquisition Manager in the development of RFPs.
•Track project trends and share information as part of overall project improvement.
