The On-Board Diagnostics Certification and Legislative Diagnostics Supervisor will lead a team of engineers, and interact with software engineering, to implement, test, certify, and report on legislative diagnostics for all gasoline, diesel, and hybrid vehicle applications. The Supervisor will interact with FCA regulatory development engineers, industry committees, and agencies to define and insure proper implementation of legislative diagnostics. The Supervisor will direct all internal and external suppliers to ensure compliant, robust and timely on-board diagnostics documentation and implementation. Additionally, the Supervisor will continue to refine processes to utilize all available data, and to drive industry best processes for legislative diagnostics development, validation, and reporting.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering from an accredited university
•Minimum 8 years of product engineering or regulatory certification experience within the transportation industry
•Minimum 3 years of experience in the following disciplines: on-board diagnostics, powertrain controls or powertrain development
•Knowledge of on-board diagnostics regulatory requirements
•Capable of coordinating activities with numerous internal and external groups, including on-board diagnostics regulatory agencies
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
Supervisory / leadership skills and experience
•Highly motivated, self-confident, self-starter with ability to prioritize conflicting assignments and requirements
•Proficient in MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications:
•Advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering from an accredited university
•Experience or certification in program management
•Experience participating in industry committees
•Experience in data collection from automotive modules
•Proficient in SAE specifications supporting legislative diagnostics
•Proficient in CARB legislative diagnostics regulations
•Proficient in software related to on-board diagnostics and base engine control
•Proficient in automotive service tools and data collection from automotive modules
•On-board diagnostics and base engine control software knowledge
