The Corporate Environment, Health and Safety – Energy/Sustainability Initiatives Specialist position is responsible for energy policy and advocacy on behalf of FCA, and coordination of the energy sustainability initiatives throughout the North American operations (United States, Canada and Mexico).
The Corporate EHS Specialist will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for FCA in the area of energy policy and is responsible for:
•Monitoring energy regulatory changes
•Advocating on behalf of FCA through various industry groups
•Advising upper management on energy related initiatives to reduce environmental impacts from operations and energy costs
•Coordinating various environmental sustainability initiatives to achieve FCA sustainability goals
The Corporate EHS Energy/Sustainability Initiatives Specialist position will report to the Corporate Environment Manager and be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
•Monitor energy markets and regulatory activity to provide advice regarding trends and market timing, and work with facilities and Manufacturing Engineering to optimize current operations and future installations relative to investment and operating costs
•Act as FCA representative with various energy advocacy organizations to ensure proper engagement on key energy issues
•Work with FCA Purchasing and Manufacturing Engineering as part of the Energy CoC to align strategic energy goals and activities
•Liaison with the FCA Sustainability organization, Purchasing, and Manufacturing Engineering to identify and implement sustainability initiatives to assist FCA with the achievement of sustainability targets
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Safety, Engineering, Science or related field
•Experience working with industry advocacy organizations on various topics including energy
•Experience with energy related projects to reduce manufacturing emissions and energy use
•Strong understanding of relevant federal and state regulations and requirements
•Willingness to work additional hours as required
•Effective written and verbal communication skills
•Strong leadership, analytical and problem solving skills
•Proficient in the use of Google suite and/or other software
Preferred Qualifications:
•Environmental related professional certifications (e.g. PE, CHMM)
•Master’s degree in Environmental, Engineering, Science or related field
•Manufacturing experience (automotive preferred)
