Under general supervision, to perform the full range of automotive and mechanical repair and maintenance tasks to a variety of gasoline and/or diesel fuel powered buses and related vehicles including maintenance of shop equipment.
Examples of work a mechanic may perform:
- Engine (diesel and gasoline) repairs and trouble diagnosis.
- Transmission repairs and trouble diagnosis.
- Electrical repairs and diagnosis.
- Air conditioning repairs and diagnosis.
- Coach inspection and inspection repairs.
- General body repairs and painting.
- Coach suspension and running gear repair.
- Welding.
- Machinist work.
- Repair of shop equipment – related machinist work.
- Chassis work.
- Road calls, tire changes, etc.
- Performs any work involved in the unjamming of fare-box trim units
and bill transport units.
Candidates do not need direct experience; we will train those with basic mechanical skillsets. Upon completion of ninety days of employment, you will be required to provide the tools necessary to perform the work assigned, operate a commercial motor vehicle, and must possess a valid Commercial Driver's license (CDL) with proper endorsements (Don’t have a CDL – our training will prepare you to take the certification exam).
