Most opportunities will be global in nature and will involve collaboration with FCA colleagues in Italy, South America and Asia. Our buyers manage all commercial terms for a specific deck of parts and develop sourcing strategies for assigned commodities ensuring that suppliers are capable of meeting FCA quality, technology and supply requirements.
Buyer positions are available at the FCA US Headquarters and Technology Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan within the body, exterior, interior, electrical, chassis, engine systems and powertrain commodity teams. There are also buyer positions within MOPAR parts and services purchasing, and indirect purchasing.
Functional responsibilities include identifying potential sources, managing quotations, and negotiating and awarding long term contracts. As a buyer you will be expected to manage all aspects of the supplier relationship including contract maintenance, achievement of annual cost savings targets and development of supplier/commodity strategies. Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, Economics, or closely related field from an ABET accredited program or equivalent program
•Strong communication skills and highly customer focused
•Strong fluency with MS Office Suite/G Suite
•Strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master’s degree
•Previous co-op or internship in purchasing or closely related relevant field
•2.5 years of purchasing or closely related relevant experience
•Experience leading cross-functional teams
•Experience with SAP
•Automotive OEM or automotive tier one supplier experience
•Global commodity experience: participating in global sourcing activities and working in global teams
