The Connected Vehicle Systems Design Architect will be the Technical Product Owner, driving collaborative design of architecture, distribution of function across the eco-system and document the system solution for development of component functionality. Support component strategy and articulate the vision and mission of the product roadmap, including implementation and prioritization. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop user stories and requirements while evaluating their potential and practicality by analyzing consumer and stakeholder needs. Serve as the central resource with design as the product moves through development. Act as user champion when coordinating product development with business stakeholder and align design activity with business goals and priorities. Manage the prioritization and refinement of the design work products while working with the development teams to clarify requirements balancing business needs with technical requirements. Determine the appropriate product Release Date and Content. Create and maintain communications regarding vision and progress like a product roadmap and release plan. Provide regular reporting including scope, schedule, and planning. Take lead on issue resolution for systems in design. Maintain a basic knowledge of software development and the industry for the particular component.
Basic Qualifications
•Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited university.
•5 years of experience in automotive connected systems enterprise architecture or connected systems engineering design role for software-based consumer products
•5 years of software development in enterprise systems design, development, and operation
•Proven experience as a Technical Product Owner or Enterprise Architect in a cross-functional team, dedicated to the complete product development lifecycle of successfully launched enterprise software solutions globally deployed
•Experience capturing and managing software requirements including writing requirements specification
•Experience creating architectural artifacts such as sequence diagrams
•Experience integrating & testing software verifying it meets acceptance criteria
•Experience with the IBM DOORs and related software development products
•Demonstrated experience in network communication design: CAN, LIN or Ethernet
Preferred Qualifications
•Master of Science in Electrical, computer, information technology or equivalent from an ABET credited University
•Experience creating release notes, user documentation, and/or training materials
•Demonstrated experience in automotive electrical component design and development (preferably body electrical such as body controller or equivalently complex module), audio or infotainment, chassis electrical systems, powertrain electrical systems, power and signal distribution
•Demonstrable knowledge of software development lifecycles and activities
•Strong leadership and technical skills to lead cross-functional teams and align stakeholders
•Technical skills including: Understanding software systems and products; Ability to review designs and ensure they meet best practices
•The desire to be part of, and contribute to, a team with a proven ability to work cross-functionally with designers, coders, integrators and business teams
•Strong relationship-building skills including the ability to relate constructively to all levels of an organization
•Ability to multitask and prioritize projects and tasks judiciously
•Strong listening, written, and oral communication skills
•Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical individuals
•Ambition and the ability to be self-directed
•Excellent organizational and communication skills
