Job Summary
Applies experience and expertise to solve problems, influences othesr, and executse on business unit priorities in one of DTE Energy's operations areas, including Gas, Distribution Operations, and Fossil Generation. Leads various projects and initiatives, and will have the opportunity to formally lead a workforce in one of these operational areas.
Key Accountabilities
•Generates innovative ideas and applies change best practices to ensure impact on key initiatives
•Applies operational and technical fundamentals in the business environment using analytical and problem solving skills
•Utilizes formal approach to project management including utilizing tools and techniques that are a part of the six sigma/lean approach; documents, updates and maintains project scorecards as requested
•Leads and monitors Continuous Improvement (CI) projects/programs and/or initiatives, ensuring successful execution and achievement
•Tracks overall CI progress and application working directly or indirectly with leaders
•Applies knowledge and expertise to develop and implement CI resulting in improved performance within the business unit
•Performs or oversees various core supervisory/management functions for a given group(s) within a business unit, including: planning, organizing, directing the performance of ongoing activities and/or special / ad hoc assignments, staffing (employee selection, training/coaching, performance management, and time entry), and reporting and budgeting
•Provides technical support to the field as required
•Coaches others to drive process change/improvements
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
•Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience leading in an operations environment, inclusive of leading change initiatives
Other Qualifications
Preferred
•Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, such as engineering or physical sciences
•Experience supervising a represented workgroup
•Experience working in the utility industry
