The Manufacturing Planning and Control Launch Lead is responsible for performing work force planning and leveling per the new program template. The person in this role interacts with corporate planning, production management and union leadership on all matters relating to IE activities.
Additional job responsibilities include but not limited to:
•Lead a cross-functional team in the development of operator man assignments, working closely with TLs, quality, and engineering to ensure objectives are met at the station and plant levels
•Build relationships with engineering and manufacturing to comprehend the new product requirements and sequence of build
•Develop work assignments based on a predetermined time standard
•Conduct studies in operations to maximize workflow and spatial utilization. Plans and oversees layout of equipment, office and production facilities
•Perform cycle time and bottleneck analysis
•Develop and improve work methods
•Work with functional managers and operation managers to improve productivity, quality, and throughput
•Support World Class Manufacturing (WCM) especially for WO (Workplace Organization) and LO (Logistic) pillars
•Support IE Manager in various IE and WCM related assignments and projects
The Industrial Engineering Launch Team Lead will possess the ability to take on and own leadership roles in executing the launch plan as well as provide supervision, mentoring and direction to less experienced team members. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, goal driven and possesses good presentation skills.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
•4+ years of industrial engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
•Excellent communication and computer skills
•Excellent problem solving/analytical skills
•Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
•Ability to work as part of a team and interface with all levels of management and labor
•Self-motivated
Preferred Qualifications:
•Advanced degree
•Experience implementing direct labor line balancing in a high volume manufacturing environment using a standard time methodology
