The role of the Sr. Network Engineer demands technical skill, a focus on internal customer service and the ability to think, communicate and write for audiences of varying technical knowledge.Roles and Responsibilities
•As a member of the Data Networks Team, this role works closely with team members, project managers, enterprise architecture and technical staff to design, build and deploy various network solutions in order to meet business objectives.
•Develops technical design and implementation artifacts that aid in overall project delivery and ongoing support.
•Serves as a subject matter expert in various areas of network infrastructure. Specifically, this role designs and implements enterprise network solutions utilizing: LANs, WANs, Switches, Routers, DWDM, DNS/DHCP, Wireless, Private Fiber, MPLS and Leased Carrier Circuits.
•Researches, designs, and advocates new technologies, architectures, and networking products that will support enterprise requirements and its customers, business partners and vendors.
•Communicates solutions and potential risks to business partners and IT staff.
•Provides technology integration, process development, documentation and knowledge transfer to operational teams as projects close and transfer to day to day operations.
•Requires a bachelor's degree preferably in an Information Technology field. Applicable exempt work experience is not required. Less than a bachelor's degree may be acceptable if accompanied by other technical training / relevant certifications and extensive experience (internal/external) in positions that demonstrate required abilities and performance.
•7+ years of combined IT and networking work experience with a broad exposure to infrastructure/network and large enterprise environments.
•Expert networking background in TCP/IP, packet analysis, routing/switching hardware, wireless LANs, QoS and OSPF. Juniper Junos, Arista Cisco F5, Palo Alto and Infoblox a strong plus.
•Experience developing detailed system designs, diagrams and documentation.
•Professional certifications, preferably in technical areas of network engineering, are desired.
