OVERVIEW
Provide support to the Procurement team by verifying specifications and price, processing and prioritizing requisitions, and monitoring and expediting orders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist Purchasing Agents with preparation of purchasing documents including RFQs, quote comparisons, spreadsheet analysis, requisitions and reports.
- Research and evaluate vendors based on price, quality and performance
- Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, and in the event of problems trace shipments and follow up undelivered goods.
- Confer with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.
- Participates in and supports Quality Assurance and Food Safety Initiatives
- Provides Purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends
- Study sales records and inventory levels of current stock to develop strategic purchasing schedules that facilitate employee access to supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree in business or related field preferred.
- Manufacturing Quality Methods and Procedures
- Vendor Relationships
- Customer Service
- Supply cost accounting, budgeting
- Relevant experience working in the food processing industry (preferred)
Skills and Knowledge
- Proficient using PC, via keyboard/mouse, and various software applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite and ADP).
- Demonstrated ability to maintain integrity and privacy of confidential information.
- Ability to work well under pressure and quickly assess and respond appropriately to questions.
- Ability to adapt to change and learn quickly.
- Good organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to comprehend and comply with GMP rules and Food Safety guidelines.
