Job Description
Job Title: Advanced Electrical Engineer
Location: Southfield, MI
Education: BSE, technical degree or equivalent experience.
Position Focus:
Leads the engineering activity for assigned programs to ensure that products meet customer and Company specifications and that program milestones are achieved. Responsible for coordinating and monitoring the engineering process and for providing direction as required. Will typically be interfacing with a group of support engineers.
Engineering responsibility for incorporating electrical and electronic systems technology into seating systems. Candidate should have an understanding for automotive relationships and customer interactions.
Scope:
Semi-autonomous work environment, must demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding technology and application. Must be able to develop specifications and engineering requirements with OEM's for new technology. Will interface directly with other internal functional groups within RD and advanced quoting activities as well as OEM engineering groups.
Direct responsibility for design, fabrication, and validation/demonstration of engineering properties for internal and customer prototype deliverables.
Position Specific Requirements:
•Candidates with experience from Legget-Platt, Kongsberg, GenTherm, Continental, and other similar companies or equivalent would be beneficial. Pneumatic/mechanical seat systems experience would be beneficial.
•Candidates must be open to travels relating to projects & meetings (Europe & Asia)
•Candidates should have electrical engineering competencies in DC wiring; working knowledge of automotive connectors, terminals, switches, modules, sensors, etc.; and an understanding of automotive electrical networks (CAN-LIN) and HMI interfaces.
Experience: Automotive industry experience is required - At least 2 years of seating or electrical engineering experience and a minimum of 2 years' experience working with Automotive OEM's.
