DEPARTMENT SUMMARY
System Integrity (within Gas Asset Management) is responsible for managing the inspection and remediation work across 2,500 Miles of Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline. The team provides support for a key component to deliver safe and reliable service to our customers.
JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILTIES
The qualified candidate will work on the Pipeline Integrity team in the System Integrity Department. The primary responsibility will be coordinating In-Line Inspections and Remediation with Gas Control, Operations, Engineering Vendors and Contractors used for this work. Work also includes writing Inspection and Outage Work Procedures and being on site the day of the inspections and periodic site reviews during remediation.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
5 or more years of applicable working experience.
A Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited program

•Must possess high ethical standards and must follow and adhere to the CMS Energy Corporate Code of Conduct in all business matters.
•Must be willing to travel within the State of Michigan.
•Ability to read and interpret emergency plan drawings.
•Familarity with Michigan Gas Safety Code is a plus.

Essential Functions
•Experience in planning, design, construction, and maintenance of Transmission Pipeline Systems.

•Provide engineering services with accuracy, integrating all applicable governmental and company laws, standards and procedures on time and under budget.
•Understand and follow company established standard procedures for file structure and standard drawing procedures for projects
•Become familiar with plans and specifications, maps, and related material for each project and be able to utilize the information appropriately.
•Assists in client contact and communication.
•Utilize effective oral and written communication skills to provide technical expertise tocoworkers, clients, customers, government entities and the public.
•Public involvement may include producing reports, graphics, presentations, and other visual material as well as occasional speaking or meeting with stakeholders.
•Attend internal and external meetings.
•Provide all engineering services in a legal and ethical manner. Resolve all customer complaints in a timely manner.
•Serve as onsite project representative. Reviews operating and construction sites to monitor progress and other duties per the design documents.
Hours and Travel
•This position requires the individual work a minimum of 40 hours per week (45-50 typical) with 75% of time spent in the office or specific field locations.
•Travel is required to job sites and project meetings and could be significant dependent upon location.
•Individuals need to be willing to work additional hours as necessary to meet deadlines.
