GROUP/DIVISION
The Global Service Support Organization (GSS) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Engineering, Field Operations, Product Training, and Technical Support. The GSS organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.
The GSS organization's Engineering group develops data systems for improved diagnostics and predictive maintenance. The data systems monitor the performance of fleets of KLA test and measurement equipment in semiconductor fabrication plant environments. They collect, transform, and store data. They provide visualizations, recommendations based on analytics, and alerts. This exciting position will enable you to interact with a wide variety of engineers and KLA system data.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Participate in Agile software development for a full stack data analytics system
* Derive statistics-based decision-making algorithms using JMP or Matlab
* Design, develop and test data analysis and visualization applications in Python
* Interact with multi-site team members (Michigan, California, India, and Israel) during software product life cycle for requirement analysis, design, coding, integration and testing
* Work with software, hardware, product support, application and marketing groups to understand and document product requirements
* Occasionally travel to California for training and collaboration, and to US and international customer sites on an as-needed basis for deployment, research, or troubleshooting
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Requirements:
* Strong understanding of statistics, data structures, and algorithms
* Technical expertise in Python and/or R and a software development language (C#/Java/C++/C)
* Experience developing data analytic scripts using JMP or Matlab
* Excellent software design/implementation capabilities
* Good communication, interpersonal and team coordination skills
* Motivated to learn new skills independently
* Creative thinker with good problem-solving abilities
Desired:
* Proven record of having developed a software application that has shipped to a customer
* Experience with the following technical areas
* Big data frameworks (Apache Spark, Hadoop)
* Web development (HTTP, REST, JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
* Database systems (SQL/NoSQL)
* Working with a source control system
* Building or troubleshooting scientific instruments or other mechanical, electrical, and/or optical systems
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in a field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or Physics. Doctorate (Academic) OR Master's Level Degree with at least 2 years of experience OR Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 3 years of experience in Data Analytics and Software Engineering.
