Primary Functions:
Insure that customers both internal and external receive the quality bus that they expect by inspecting the bus and reporting/recording any necessary repairs/corrections prior to shipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
•Close attention to detail.
•Function with a minimal amount of supervision or no supervision.
•Set work priorities to meet production goals as scheduled per assigned department.
•Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those in contact on a day to day basis.
•Meet minimum standards of safety per assigned department.
•Meet minimum standards of housekeeping per assigned department.
•Knowledge of basic 12 volt electricity.
•Update QC gate board.
•Responsible for reporting deficiency in design and suggestion of improvements in design and assembly technique.
•Responsible for water testing, fixing leaks, and weighing.
•Responsible for road and function testing.
•Responsible for final sign-off and final inspection.
•Responsible for inspection and function testing of all buses received.
•Responsible for verifying options to orders.
•Responsible for completing a release receipt.
•Be compliant with all the rules of conduct and attendance per the company handbook.
•Other duties and responsibilities as required
•Computer entry of defects and errors.
•Printing of computer generated reports (i.e. PATI’s, error reporting, and hospital reports).
•Notify supervisor/lead if not on schedule.
•Follow departmental work instructions.
•Notify supervisor/lead if encountering maintenance issues.
Qualifications:
•Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions.
•Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, assembly drawing, schematics and other written or verbal instructions presented in English.
•Ability to read English and Metric tape measures and use measuring devices.
•Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
•Ability to recognize quality expected and be able to reproduce it.
•Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
•Must possess good mechanical ability and component operation functions.
•Training will include familiarization with roles as outlined in Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan.
•Use functional gauging assigned for inspection of buses.
•Problem solving abilities.
Champion Bus, Inc., was founded in 1953 and located on 73 acres just outside Imlay City, Michigan. Champion is one of the pioneers of the mid-size commercial bus industry and began producing these buses in 1981. In 2012, Champion Bus acquired Federal Coach, and began producing a luxury line of buses. In October 2013, Champion was acquired by and joined the REV Group family.
