The company is currently seeking an experienced Business Development Associate. Responsibilities
Position Summary/ Primary Purpose
Reporting to the Airport Systems Sales Manager, the Business Development Associate, Airport Systems sells airport baggage handling systems using technical, customer and organizational (Municipal, State, Federal or Corporate) knowledge to influence and assist potential customers in applying our products/services to their needs, resulting in revenue generation. In addition, the position provides input and participates in the marketing, market planning, and technical development of products and services.
Major Areas of Responsibility
•Create and maintain sales contacts, research customer needs and develop application of products and services to ensure sales opportunities for products and services.
•Develop and deliver sales presentations and close sales in a professional and effective manner to ensure the meeting of specific quota goals and the generation of revenue.
•Participate in sales forecasting and planning to ensure effective market planning and continued revenue stream.
•Participate in development of new products, modification of existing products, & termination of ineffective products to ensure customer satisfaction.
•Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and customers as defined in the company policy to ensure a positive corporate image, teamwork, and attainment of goals,
•Manage assigned sales budgets in a timely and effective manner to ensure smooth fiscal operations.
Broad Knowledge as Follows (Basic/Preferred)
•Computer Programs – Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel. Proficiency is Salesforce CRM is also desired.
•Sales and Marketing— Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
•Customer and Personal Service— Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Skills & Abilities as Follows (Basic/Preferred)
•Superior communication and presentation skills
•Strong organizational skills– Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
•Relentless customer focus—innovating and insisting on high standards on our customers’ behalf
•Experience using analytical, sales, and productivity tools including Salesforce and MS OfficeQualifications
Education & Experience
•BS in Engineering/business, or equivalent 6 years baggage handling industry experience.
•Minimum 3 years experience in industrial application of material handling solutions, preferable integrated baggage handling systems.
•Proven record of successful interfacing to customers in an engineering or sales environment.
•Sales experience in capital goods and/or long lead time sales processes.
•Understanding of upper level controls systems desired.
Demonstrated Physical Abilities as Follows:
Remain stationary for 50% of the time; move/traverse throughout the office to access file cabinets and office equipment; operate a computer and other productivity machinery; inspect documents; communicate with others through talking/hearing; read/identify/assess forms and correspondence.
Visits to customer locations may include negotiating through an industrial facility, which may include but not limited to conveyor systems requiring climbing access ladders, negotiating screen guards, and catwalks.
Travel is typically 1 or 2 nights per week. International travel may also be required.
