Join Us! We are seeking a caustic professional to join our 2nd shift team!
The caustic operator is responsible for separating, cleaning, and building extrusion press dies using a variety of tooling and cleaning products.
Principal Duties:
•Assemble and break down tooling assemblies
•Run dies through the caustic solution to clean excess aluminum out of dies
•Blast and rinse the die to clean any additional excess material from the die using the Guyson
•Insure dies are clean and with no remaining aluminum remnants left
•Assist die correctors by maintaining 5S (an organization and efficiency process) in the die shop
•Store and retrieve dies as necessary
•Clean and maintain the Guyson or caustic areas
•Regular and predictable attendance
•Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE
•Continuously improve by learning new skills and procedures to clean dies.
•Learn all tool stacks and tooling assembly
•Must have the ability to identify, communicate, and correct problems and adapt to the solutions
•Learn to use caustic tanks to fullest utilization
•Assist Caustic Lead in the recharging of tanks
•Other duties as may be assigned for business necessity
Position Requirements:
•High school diploma or GED.
•Ability to understand and carry out instructions in verbal, written and diagram form.
•Able to stand for a minimum of 10 hours.
•Requires constant reaching, handling, and grasping while turning with upper body.
•Able to work flexible hours when required to meet customer demands.
•Demonstrated excellent attendance.
•Hold or be able to obtain valid Hilo license and operate an overhead crane.
•Must be able to maintain departmental production and quality standards with minimal supervision.
•Must be able to work in close quarters, moving around equipment and hot metal.
•Ability to work in varied temperatures including high heat and humidity as well as other outdoor climate conditions of the region.
•Teamwork is essential; Must be willing to work closely and effectively communicate with co-workers.
•Ability to solve problems involving mathematical equations.
•Basic data entry computer skills.
•Able to lift up to 50 pounds independently.
•Good eye/hand coordination and dexterity.
Preferred experience:
•Hazardous materials training
