Alumni and Engagement Coordinator
Position Summary
The American Economic Association Summer Training Program (AEASP) at Michigan State University, which is implemented by the Economics Department, seeks an Specialist- Outreach, also known as the Alumni and Engagement Coordinator. This person would primarily communicate with, coordinate, and execute outreach and engagement activities with AEASP alumni, including participation in evaluation research activities. The Alumni and Engagement Coordinator would also work with the Program Director and other program administrators, faculty, and students to support the program during the summer and throughout the year. The position would be at the rank of an Outreach Specialist and this will be a 100% position beginning May 2019 through September 2019. The appointment will be adjusted to 25-50% time in the middle to end of September 2019.
This position would require at least a Master’s degree in an economics-related field or a field that would support the objectives of the program. Excellent oral and written communication skills, experience working with college students, basic computing (Excel, Google Docs) and Word processing skills, and time-management and organizational skills are required. Familiarity with working with diverse populations and with accounting systems are desirable. Applications for the position will be accepted and reviewed immediately.

Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree in an economics-related field or a field that would support the objectives of the program;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Basic computing and word-processing skills (MS Excel and Word, Google Docs);
- Good time-management and organizational skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree in economics-related field (preferred);
- Experience working in higher education -- undergraduate and graduate students -- and with diverse populations.
