The Industrial Engineering Supervisor is responsible for supervising plant Industrial Engineers and reposts to the plant Industrial Engineering Manager. The IE Supervisor will interact with management to develop hourly and salary staffing plans and lead actions to achieve productivity objectives. The person in this position interacts with production management and union leadership on a daily basis on all matters relating to staffing requirements. The Supervisor also supports development of direct and indirect labor budgets with corporate industrial engineering teams as well as performs indirect labor and ergonomics studies. This position will plan/adjust manpower according to assembly plants’ production schedules. The IE Supervisor supports World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and new program system design reviews and optimization.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering OR another degree with equivalent Industrial Engineering experience
•5+ years of Industrial Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
•Supervisory experience
•Demonstrated experience with time and motion studies, development of standardized work and standard data
•Understanding of manufacturing systems
•Demonstrated ability to apply throughput improvement processes
•Practical knowledge and understanding of traditional lean manufacturing systems
Preferred Qualifications:
•MTM-UAS or MODAPTS certification
•3+ years of auto industry experience
•Experience working in a union environment
•Data collection, root cause analysis and practical problem solving skills
•Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles
•Knowledge/experience with AutoCAD
