Position Description:
General Dynamics Land Systems is a global leader in the design, development, production, support and enhancement of tracked and wheeled military vehicles around the world. General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) located at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) in Washington state currently has an opening for an Industrial Engineer. This position will report to the Operations Manager.
•Responsible for the development of work standards for the Stryker Sustainment operations at Joint Base Lewis
•McChord, Stryker National Repair Center (SNR) and Stryker National Logistics Center (SNLC)
•Investigate, analyze and propose new or improved methods and systems relative to reducing costs
•Measurement and control of labor and Other Expenses (Material, ODCs, travel)
•Review and monitor program manning requirements based upon Contractual obligations
•Assist with Indirect Budget Development and advise management on indirect spending
•Estimate new project labor and material costs and planning used for Proposal Development
•Support Site Teams in achieving cost, quality, and schedule objectives
•Develop cost effective, cutting edge process strategies to manage current business requirements and prepare for
•future business opportunities
•Provide detailed site input to management for development of Direct Labor Operating Plan
•Provide monthly input to management for development of accurate Project EAC's
•Recommend process improvement streamlining plan, as well as integrate best practices amongst all operational groups
•Utilize Lean/Six Sigma tools to improve performance and support CPI teams and sections
•Support Site Teams in developing and measuring metrics key to site performance
•Develop and maintain the Alpha Roster monthly to align funding with manpower requirements
•Responsible for the labor auditing and reporting requirements of site
•Actively engage in promoting a workplace free from environmental health and safety related hazards.
Position Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline required
•Master's degree in engineering or business preferred
•Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
•Must have basic knowledge of Industrial Engineering practices
•Require proficient computer skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
•Prefer working knowledge in Oracle
•Must have the ability and willingness to travel domestic and internationally
•Must be able to handle multiple assignments and projects simultaneously
•Must be able to obtain US passport
