Within Stanley Engineered Fastening automotive division, an opening is currently available for Die Repair at our Chesterfield, MI plant.
Basic Purpose and Objective
Under general supervision, and according to established policies and procedures and tool designs, develops dies capable of producing parts to specifications, to include progressive and/or fourslide/Bihler.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
* Competes lay outs and machine details, assembles, and repairs tools.
* According to tool design, develops details capable of producing parts to specifications, utilizing various measuring instruments to determine proper tool construction.
* Set up and operates tool room equipment, such as mills, lathes, grinders, and drills to machine parts to specifications.
* Cleans equipment and maintains housekeeping in immediate area.
* Perform quality checks with micrometers, calipers and other measuring equipment.
* Able to read and understand blueprints.
* Evaluate die strips and trouble shoot problems.
* Able to work overtime as scheduled.
Education/Experience Required:
* High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
* Prior experience with Die Repair
Skills Required:
* Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
* Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form. Deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
* Practical application of fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion, mensuration, logarithms, practical algebra, geometric construction, and essentials of trigonometry.
* Able to write instructions in moderate to simple sentences to provide manufacturing information. Must be able to communicate technical information between tool design and manufacturing activities.
