We at Leggett & Platt Automotive are looking for a Product Marketing Manager to join our rapidly growing Automotive Team in Troy, MI. We are a multi-billion-dollar globally diversified company that designs and manufactures various engineered components and products. Our growing automotive business unit, which exceeds one billion dollars in sales, is comprised of four main product segments with operations on three continents. Our customers include OEM and Tier 1 automotive companies.
In this role, you will report to the Vice President of Marketing and Strategy and be responsible for the development of go-to-market strategy and accompanying plans and tactics to effectively increase market share and driver accelerated profitable growth.
The role works collaboratively with key business partners to identify unmet customer needs, design product/service value propositions, and ensure effective management of technical, finance, procurement, supply chain, and commercial resources.

What you will be doing?
- Monitor and evaluate industry trends including customers, competitors, technologies, regulations, disruptors, etc.,
- Partner with other functional areas to ensure market intelligence is systematically captured and analyzed
- Support the business unit strategic planning process
- Develop go-to-market designs, execution, and improvement strategies for motors and actuators
- Execute plans to deliver that strategy at a global scale
- Craft & develop compelling customer specific messages and tools (product videos, customer success stories, web content, presentations, webinars, analyst papers etc.)
- Act as liaison to external and internal partners and effectively partner with them to support successful launches
- Monitor the effectiveness of the tactics and implement ongoing improvements
- Report on progress against goals and present relevant metrics to senior management
We’re looking for someone with:
- 10+ years of experience in brand or product marketing, experience with motors and actuators is a definite plus.
- Demonstrated ability to build, execute, and scale marketing and/or promotional programs
- Strong analytic and quantitative skills - ability to use data to develop and measure marketing programs.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to influence others, especially when working across teams and functions
- Experience developing creative and media strategy to enhance brand image
- Thinks strategically, but stays on top of tactical execution
- Master’s degree or MBA
