Job Summary
This position will contribute to the efficient operation of controlling and directing the staff and activities involved in purchasing, material planning, scheduling, inventory control, production control, logistics, and shipping/receiving in support of customer orders and forecasts.
The Supply Chain/Planning Manager will develop and maintain procurement and inventory management systems and policies, which ensure timely delivery of goods, equipment, materials and supplies, consistent with quality standards and specifications of the company. In addition, drive improvements for materials management, logistics and production scheduling. Deliverables range across long-term planning, on-time start, on-time delivery, inventory optimization and accuracy, and supplier delivery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Manage, co-ordinate and assist in the activities of the Materials Department, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, scheduling, purchasing, container management, and logistics
- Reviews practices, procedures, and processes in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Evaluate and improve planning and scheduling processes and systems
- Ensures required documentation and/or system transactions are executed to meet customer, manufacturing system, and financial reporting requirements
- Provides leadership and commitment in support of continuing improvements in delivery performance
- Responsible for balancing objectives, on time delivery, inventory days on hand, production schedule management, etc.
- Optimize facility inventory levels including raw, WIP and finished goods and position to exceed inventory
- Directly support lean manufacturing principles and processes as well as operate as a key partner during new program launches
- Ability to gain the respect and confidence of other team members
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management
- 7 -10 years manufacturing operations and supply chain, including significant experience with technology, process engineering, and data analysis
- Thorough knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements, purchase order and manufacturing order generation process logic, and inventory management practices
- Thorough understanding of Material Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, inventory control, purchasing, operations and shipping/receiving
- Knowledge of AS9100
- Ability to perform well in high pressure situations
- Ability to innovate and drive change
- Ability to operate PC with knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar software packages
- Strong oral, written communication and analytical skills
