BMT Aerospace International NV is a division of the BMT Group NV (Belgium) and has three manufacturing subsidiaries which are located in Romania (BMT AEROSPACE Romania), Belgium (BMT Aerospace - EURAIR) and the United States (BMT Aerospace USA). Manufactured products include flight safety detail gearing, gearbox assemblies, shafts and couplings for fixed and rotary wing aircraft platforms and systems. Services include "build to print" gearboxes using existing OEM drawings.

Summary
Responsible for leading the engineering team to develop processes for precision components for the aerospace industry, utilize knowledge of advanced engineering systems and process, to ensure high quality final products. Activities include leading and mentoring complex manufacturing engineering activities using computer assisted engineering and design software. Drive Innovation, standardization & benchmarking throughout the aerospace engineering activities to maintain competitive position in the industry.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and resolve engineering and manufacturing related problems in all manufacturing processes. Also lead and support other engineers in developing the new process, tools selection, tooling and quench die design optimization, heat treat and plating processes (i.e., carburizing, induction, nitriding, thru hardening, copper plating, silver platting etc.), etching, Non Destructive Testing (NDT) and critical metallurgical evaluation on various aerospace materials/processes
- Develop engineering procedures & standards, integrated engineering databases & systems, engineering change request system, as well as other strategic engineering and technology projects
- Experience in aerospace OEM substantiation requirements such VSE, FPA, frozen process, DVI. Lead MRB (Material Review Board) activities to provide engineering dispositions for non-conforming parts and engage Cross Functional Team of engineers to drive 8D Root Cause and Corrective Action during customer escapes and concessions approval process
- Check and approve all new and revised engineering processes, cost improvement proposals, new fixture/tooling designs, quality improvement proposals as well as other engineering documents. Also review and approve tooling designs and specifications, operation/process sketches, engineering and configuration changes, subcontract engineering sketches/definitions, process value engineering proposals and engineering concessions from suppliers as well as to customers
- Conduct preliminary engineering assessments of new drawings/designs/proposals/programs, conceptual process development, detailed process developments and review and approval of complete manufacturing process with value engineering focus. Responsible for engineering accuracy and compliance to customer requirements
- Innovate and develop new manufacturing technology, identify new equipment/software/processes to improve current throughput, scrap/rework reduction, reduce cost, improve quality and reliability. Develop and deploy lean six sigma projects, SPC, MSA, Gauge R&R initiatives, quality clinic process, Aerospace PPAP, PFMEAs, Engineering projects and risk mitigations plans etc.
- Experience in implementation of Computed Aided Process Planning (CAPP) system using latest DELMIA DPM Process Planning software include other CAD/CAM packages such as CATIA, AutoCAD, Solid Works, Master CAM, ICAM, DPM and an integrated ‘Engineering Management’ system with real-time KPI metrics
- Perform and facilitate manufacturing tolerance stack-up optimization techniques to increase in-process manufacturing in-process tolerances to ease manufacturing and improve process yield
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
- 5-7 years experience in a management role
- Must be US Citizen or authorized to work in the United States
