Job Description:
•Software Planning & Strategy Analyst This position leverages business, project management and engineering skills to collaborate with Purchasing matched pair on key software commercial engineering initiatives, support Central Software strategy planning and facilitate Central Software budget plan.
Position Duties:
•Purchasing Matched Pair
•Identify software commercial engineering needs/concerns/issues and work with Purchasing team on proposals/resolutions.
•Conduct bi-weekly Software-Purchasing Matched Pair meeting to track issues and report progress.
•Collaborate with Purchasing team to establish requirements and quoting process to: o Quantify SW development cost to avoid suppliers charge OEM twice for the same development work. o Separate SW piece cost from HW piece cost. o Investigate SW license costs to avoid OEM pay multiple fees for the same license. o Develop SW Cost model. Strategy Planning
•Identify gaps and opportunities for end to end enterprise level SW development and release activities/process.
•Support Central Software management on priority setting and strategy planning.
•Kick off initial studies and set up projects.
•Collaborate with groups such as Planning and Research & Advanced Engineering.
•Execute special projects and conduct impact analysis. Budget/Business/Project Managment
•Facilitate and maintain Central Software department budget, headcount, capital expenses, purchase services and hiring plan as well as status tracking.
Skills Required:
•Strong project management skills and ability to deliver projects on time and to target.
•Commercial business acumen.
•Knowledge on software development and Systems Engineering.
•Strong communication, inter-personal and team building skills.
•Adept at working across organizational boundaries to accomplish tasks.
•Strong computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint).
Experience Required:
