IMPORTANT WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: External customers, Field Service, Engineering, Sales, Contract Administration, Purchasing, Manufacturing, ILS

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Manage and report status of IDIQ contracts. Work directly with end-user in the development of product improvements. Provide support to Field Service Engineers (FSE). Provide input on repairs/ prototype development efforts.
MAJOR DUTIES:
Identify areas of improvement and design, develop, and coordinate installation of potential upgrades and enhancements.
Evaluate and process engineering change requests initiated by field service engineers and technicians.
Present design improvements to customers and negotiate contracts to implement changes.
Configuration management, track changes and maintenance by ship hull. Supplement Field Service Engineers on site during critical projects and startup. Provide engineering expertise on major repair and/or prototype development.
Work directly with end-user (Navy, etc.) engineering counterpart to implement changes and receive feedback about success and failures.
Review significant work items and make suggestions for improvement, additions or deletions, from work item to provide a higher quality product post Regular Overhaul (ROH).
Process improvement for field service tasks, including developing troubleshooting guides and maintaining lessons learned.
Design solutions to improve maintainability of products.
Coordinate with outside suppliers to develop upgrades and solutions while managing to design budgets.
Ensures adherence to schedules, develops solutions to program problems, and directs work of resources assigned to the program from various departments.
Manage, expedite, and status the project throughout project completion.
Work closely with Programs Coordinator and functional areas to ensure the timely and accurate submittal of project deliverables.
Conduct a project review at close of job to describe and analyze company and supplier performance and evaluate continuous improvement opportunities.
Actively participate in the development of new project proposals.
Monitor and investigate additional maintenance, service, and aftermarket sales opportunities within the industry.
Travel as required.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED/SPECIAL NOTES:
Project Engineering or Project Management experience.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication proficiency.
Microsoft Office knowledge in Project, Excel, and Word, at a minimum
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Job often requires long hours of sitting/computer usage.
Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
